"This
client had an unusual request to make
his entertainment center appear like
a painting hanging on the wall. The
idea was to not know that there was
a television and all of it's components
hiding behind it when the doors were
closed. Here is are the steps
required to make this happen.

|
This
photo was taken by the client during
a trip to Italy. After
reviewing a handful of favorites, we
decided that this one would translate
nicely into a painting. |
|
I
printed out the photograph to scale
and taped it onto the work surface so
that we could see how it would all
lay out. The photo had to be cropped
since the size of the cabinet doors
were taller and narrower than the original
photo. |
|
This
is the finished painting. I
added a frame around the image so that
there would be a reason to have a split
in the middle of the cabinet. This
way, it appears that the "view" is
looking out of a window. |
|
Here are the cabinet
doors open and recessed back next to
the television. All of the components
above the television are hiding
behind small black doors for a streamlined
finish. |
|
A picture frame was attached
to the wall around the edges which
makes this look simply like a painting
on the wall. Illusion complete! |
